Consolidated 3 May 1858 with the 69th Regiment (organized 12 October 1851 at New York from new and existing companies as the 2d Irish Regiment and mustered into the New York State Militia 1 November 1851 as the 69th Regiment) and consolidated and designated as the 69th Regiment Mustered into Federal service 9 May 1861 at Washington, D.C.; mustered out of Federal service 3 August 1861 at New York (While remaining in state service the 69th Regiment formed the nucleus of the 69th New York Volunteer Infantry Regiment; mustered into Federal service 7 September- 17 November 1861 at New York and mustered out of Federal service 30 June 1865 at Alexandria, Virginia) (New York State Militia redesignated 23 April 1862 as the New York National Guard) Mustered into Federal service 26 May 1862 at New York; mustered out of Federal service 3 September 1862 at New York (While remaining in state service the 69th Regiment formed the nucleus of the 69th New York National Guard Artillery Regiment [also known as the 182d New York Volunteer Infantry Regiment]; mustered into Federal service 17 September 1862 at Newport News, Virginia, and mustered out of Federal service 15 July 1865 at Washington, D.C.)
